Follow the traffic

#

The strip bay groups aircraft by where they are in the flight. Select a strip to see the aircraft and its next clearance. Surface shows the field and taxi routes. Approach shows arrivals near the airport.

On Surface, choose Layers, then Silhouettes, or press to show or hide aircraft silhouettes.

Give a clearance

#
  1. Select an aircraft in the strip bay or on a screen.
  2. Use the strip's next clearance, a clearance key, the Commands menu or the command line. Enter issues the strip's next clearance, opens Commands and opens the command line.
  3. Watch the aircraft and listen to the crew's readback. Hand it to the next position when it is ready.

Taxi and runway crossings

#

Name the taxiways you want the crew to follow. Surface shows the route. If the route cannot be taken, the crew tells you.

An aircraft that still needs to cross a runway stays with Tower until it is across. You can include the handoff to Ground with the crossing clearance.

  • Taxi to gate C24 via G, A, J
  • cross runway 24L, contact ground on the other side

  • turn left heading 180
  • direct SMITH
